I created Illustrations and animations in collaboration with Dreamers to form the basis of Lazy Food's brand design.
Lazy Food's founder approached us at Dreamers wanting a visual brand design for their line of instant meal pouches. He was excited about the possibility of including illustrations of the ingredients, so Rosalba and I cooked up a cute cast of characters and brought them to life!
I started by designing the main character: a little spaghetti pot. Most of the dishes are noodle-based and designed to be cooked with just one pot (hence the name lazy food) so it felt right to use a cooking pot for the main character. I wanted the pot to look happy and cute but also relaxed.
I created a few variations on the lazy pot, including one with boiling water. At this point I also started working on animated loops we could include in the branding to make the characters even more engaging.
Once the client was happy with these entries I could start illustrating the various ingredients that would be incorporated into the branding.
The illustrations made their way onto the initial packaging design and are incorporated into the website and instructions. The current packaging focuses on photos of the dishes but you can still see my original illustrations on the website!
